General Position
Summary:
Will negotiate and transact with approved suppliers for the purchase of all materials, supplies, equipment and services used by the Port.
Will also be responsible for materials management and production control.
Essential Functions/Major
Responsibilities:
CMMS data entry for all aspects of maintenance department.
Purchase all production materials.
Maintain inventory for key stock items.
Manage purchase requisition process.
Work with Management/Operators/Engineers to determine quantities and types of material required for individual jobs.
Distribute requests for quotation to approved suppliers, evaluate bids, and award business.
Ensure on-time delivery of supplier product and follow-up on material shortages and past-due material from purchase orders.
Participate in identifying, evaluating, and developing potential new suppliers.
Support commercial functions by providing material cost information.
Support accounting in resolving accounts payable discrepancies.
Support receiving process by enforcing and assisting with material identification, tagging, and shipping instructions with suppliers, etc.
Specific Job Skills:
Good organizational skills.
Must be able to operate a forklift.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to work outside in different climates including cold, wet, hot and windy conditions.
Ability to stand for long periods including bending, stooping and reaching.
Must possess a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of current vehicle insurance Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check Education and/or
Experience:
High school education or equivalent required.

years experience in purchasing/inventory environment required.
Job Conditions:
Working conditions include working alone and with others, forklift operation, working outside in varying weather conditions, and frequent interruptions.
The applicant may be required to work in an environment where there are fumes, building temperature fluctuations, noise, chemicals, poor ventilation, dirt, dust, chemicals and extreme outside weather temperatures.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
